Momomama
I am trying to get organized, but it is hard!
I did manage to make an appointment to get my car inspected AND my snow tires put on, on the same day at the same place! What a genius I am. Now I just have to get the house back under control. I love Bill, and having him home helps a lot, but it also means twice the work (and I am working at about half capacity at this point.) But he made up for it all this am, when we discovered the giant whole at the back of our house. (Not as bad as it sounds...we haven't resided that part yet and the wind blew away the foam insulation on the outside, ripped the tar paper and then sucked out the fiberglass insulation on the inside...hence, let there be light! through the wall!)
That wood should be stacked by now!
First snow....not much, but it counts!
We skipped frost on the pumpkin and went straight to snow on the woodpile. And this is wednesday's forecast: Cloudy. Snow likely in the morning...then a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Total snow accumulation more than 6 inches possible. Highs in the upper 30s
My weekend has suddenly been turned on its head...in a good way. Instead of trying ot ignore the most annoying Bunkhouse guest ever (part of one of those odd father/son pairs where the dad is good but his son sucks...) I will have the place all to myself! (I would have liked the $300 I would be getting had they not cancelled last night, or a smaller amount from folks I had to turn away because these guys reserved...but whatever.)
So I plan on...
Cleaning
Making Lists
Budget
Getting my sewing room ready for winter visiting mothers who will be grandmas then
Finishing my baby sewing projects
Quilting
Knitting for Bill's bday present (belated)
baking
Carving pumpkins
celebrating a fixed tire (maybe)
Coffee Drinking with a new friend
Book clubbing
Oh joyous day. Soon I will have a laptop for work! Which means working from home! Still no internet at home, but we can't afford any of the options that aren't dial up and I can't deal with dial up, so I will content myself with a waddle to the library on those days.
This makes up for the fact that I am still driving the truck and spending money on gas for it. You can't really nag someone for not doing you a favor fast enough though.
After a long conversation with Bill's mom about flat tires en route to Bill's cousin's on Saturday, I should have known I would be greeted by a falt this morning.
After about ten seconds of profanity, it dawned on me that I could just ignore it and take the truck to work. Here's what I discovered. I can drive the truck without sciatic pain. Unfortuanlty the truck is a huge monster with the same chassis and engine as a Hummer and costs $70 to fill with gas and uses about a gallon every fifteen miles. So not practical for making my 35 mile commute.
So I called our pal S., and left him a message asking him to come put my donut on for me. Because while C.Dom credits changing a tire with her labor beginning, it's a LITTLE too early for me to having contractions. But I sort of hope he won't be able to do it for a day or two, so I can enjoy the comfort and amazing stereo in the truck. All while avoiding parking lots, because a giant GMC is sort of longer than a civic hatchback.
The itch? Is fleas. Poor Momo is allergic. (When I first got him he had big bald spots from them!) He also has a bacteria infection and POSSIBLY SCABIES! Now he has antibiotics, new flea medications and special shampoo. Poor momo.
Poor Momo has an itch he just can't scratch. So he CHEWS it. Ick.
I'm sure he's allergic to SOMETHING, but who know what! I hope the cooling weather sorts him out. If he's not better next week, he's going to the vet. Which he thinks is a treat anyway, as she has a bunch of three legged cats around and other funny animals to make him get excited.
