Bill and I have become addicted to the Food Network. And we are both a little in love with Alton Brown. We can't agree on Rachel Ray and Emeril--one loves the other hates, guys who likes who. I've been tired lately, so Bill has been making the dinners I've planned and shopped for. Last night we (and by we I mean he) made an African Sweet Potato and Red Bean Stew, flavored with lime and peanut butter. When we sat down to eat, he looks a little wary.

"Keep in mind," he said, "I've never eaten anything like this before. My mom would never believe it!" In some ways it's true, because this is a man who loathes most veggies (except for brocolli and brussel sprouts..I know, he's a nut) and NEVER eats a fruit. But he also has been known to eat funny and wild parts of fish he's caught on commercial fishing boat dares. (When we saw a greenhorn bite the head off a herring on "The Deadliest Catch", he called the stunt unoriginal and wimpy.) he is also the man who convinced me that I had to eat the raw and still hot heart of the first albacore I caught. I did. And he fell a little more in love.

So anyway, he ate it. And he loved it. And we froze some for his mom's visit next week.

After one too many annoying and disappointing trips to rent moves at the Little Supermarket, I have joined Netflix.

Bill and I took our first fishing trip of the season - I caught a pretty little brook trout and a little sunburn in the hour of sunshine we caught yesterday afternoon. So glad WE did not get the snow!

Ever since last Friday, I have been craving juicy cheeseburgers. And I want one really badly right now...even though I had one for dinner last night. And I ate lunch les than an hour ago.

Busy week at work...Board meeting, committee meetings...

Dudes! I am totally famous! Good thing I have all those new outfits!
My conference was awesome, but now my desk is creaking under the weight of a weeks worth of work! MORE LATER

My weight gain, tax refund, and consolidation of student loans all came together this weekend and resulted in a shop-a-thon. I RARELY shop and NEVER buy. I often carry clothes around the store for half an hour, then panic at the last minute and shove thigs back onto racks and shelves. Not this time. I bought, over two days, two pair of worky pants (one khaki one black), a white tee shirt, a blue scoop neck knit top, a black cotton button down shirt with white flower outlines on it, a red, white and black diagonally striped button down, AND a tweedy boucle kinda short jacket with pearly buttons and show net doodah around the collar and cuffs. Also fishnet trouser socks and some panythose.

I am raring to go to DC for the PP conference now! I will be perfectly dressed to meet our members of the Congress, or rather, their aides.

In other news, I got a touch of sun burn this weekend on the face, and I failed to ovulated when expected. Son of a bitch.

Last night was Book Club. We read Small Wonder by Barbara Kingsolver, and have deicided on The Kite Runner for next month. Which makes me so glad, as I have already read it, and have qa million other things to read! One of my fellow book clubbers lent me Swimming to Antartica by Lynne Cox, which I have wanted to read for more than a year - since I saw her profiled on Dateline, or one of those shows.

The weather is AMAZING. Spring is here. For now. I am keeping my snow tires on until our tax refund comes because it could always snow again. But I am thinking of a garden this year again, and am tepted to start digging a patch this weekend. Otherwise it will be June and I'll miss the boat all together.

Bill and I are entering the crucial business phase of my cycle. I am trying not to obsess, but damn, obsessing can be fun. That is until it because incredibly painful and teary. We're trying the every other day technique, so wish us luck. And fun.

So much going on at work makes it hard to devote time to writing my blog AND gossiping with co-workers. I kid, I kid.

But, yeah, still no update.
If I don't get drool on you, he will.
